Anita Gail Collett

Anita Gail Collett, 73, of Gray, GA, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026. Born in Macon, GA, she was the beloved daughter of Richard Malone Sr. and Katherine Malone.

Anita was known for her kind heart and vibrant spirit. She was funny, witty, and outgoing, with a personality that could light up any room. She lived her life full of laughter, always ready with a joke and a smile. Her love for life was evident in everything she did, from enjoying time with her family to sharing laughter over her favorite television shows.

Family was the center of Anita’s world. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who showed up for her loved ones in every way possible. She instilled in her family the importance of togetherness, traditions, and always being present for one another. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories made around her table, where good food, laughter, and love were always abundant.

Anita had a passion for cooking and was a true food enthusiast. She loved watching the Cooking Channel, especially Gordon Ramsay, and took great pride in sharing her culinary talents with those she loved. She also enjoyed her favorite shows, including Duck Dynasty and Bar Rescue, often laughing along and making those moments even more special with her family. She loved visiting casinos, savoring delicious meals, and above all, spending time surrounded by those she loved most.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters; Marcy Vertin (Billy) and Kelly Sapp (Jason), her son; Clinton Collett, her grandchildren; Macy Vaughn (Dalton), Seth Vertin, Jacob Stovall, Joshua Sapp, Brandon Sapp, and Bethany Sapp, and her great-grandchildren; Izzy Vaughn, Gracelyn Griffin, Gunner Vaughn, Dawsen Vaughn, and Masen Vaughn. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Anita will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, a loyal friend, and a woman whose laughter and love left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

A celebration of Anita’s life was held at Gray Memorial Chapel in Gray, GA on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. with a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service at Gray Memorial Chapel, 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, GA. The Rev. Josh Echols officiated.

Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved her.
