Bobbie Russell DiMeglio, age 84, passed away on June 7, in Rockville, MD.
She was born on December 7, 1939, in Wayside, Jones County, GA, to Thomas Russell and Maude Mason Russell. She graduated from Jones County High School in 1957. She is survived by her son, Frank DiMeglio, Jr, of Baltimore MD; daughter-in law Leslie Dimeglio, wife of her deceased son David; and grandson Dylan Di Meglio of Forest Hills, MD. She was a beloved aunt to Celia McSwain, of Loganville, GA; Wayne Russell of Crossville, TN; and Gail Dean, of Sunnyside, GA. She was preceded in death by sisters, Tommie Hall of Gray, GA, Maurine Bilderback of Wayside, GA, and Victor Russell of Crossville, TN.
Bobbie was known for her sense of humor, and sense of adventure. She enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in the Philippines, and in Newport, RI. As a Contract Specialist at Ft. Meade, MD, she was assigned on a tour of duty to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She travelled in Europe and the Middle East and enjoyed frequent vacation trips with her friends and coworkers.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wayside Presbyterian Church.
Bobbie leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
