HADDOCK, GA Cuyler Anthony Payne, 85, of Grey Fox Court, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his family.
The family received friends Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m.4:00 p.m. in the Gordon Church. Services were held at 4:00 pm, at the Gordon Church. Rev.
Jason Dillard and Harold Reece, Jr. officiated.
Burial will be at a later date in Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Mr. Payne was born in Allentown, GA. He was the son of the late John Marion Payne and Hettie Howell Payne. He was the widower of the late Phyllis Kay Clarke Payne and was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Clarke Payne and his brother, John Derrick Payne. Cuyler was a former Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol, and retired Chief of Police for the city of Gordon, GA and served as Probate and Magistrate Judge of Wilkinson County.
Cuyler was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of The Gordon Church.
Survivors include his son, John Stacy (Niccole) Payne. His sister, Marian P. Beacham.
Grandchildren, Anthony Clarke (Victoria) Payne II, Aiden Luke Payne and John Graham Payne. Great-grandchildren, Maverick Payne and Weston Payne. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
