Letters to the Editor

Reading through the Bible

Dear Editor,

The week of “through the Bible reading” in Carol’s Park was truly a blessing for everyone who participated and those who came and listened. Among the younger ones who were out Friday beginning their fall break from school, sat on the steps of the gazebo with their Bible book or readings posted on paper. Little Jaxon Radetsky and Gatlynn Godwin were in First Baptist Preschool together and moved to a higher level now in Pre-K and they remain good friends. Two other young fellows, Andres Abney and Jesse Abney from Gray Station Middle School came, read scripture and blew the shofar.

Their older brother JonTroy, a high school student came on Monday, read and blew the shofar. At the closing on Saturday was a great blessing as Pastor Orlando Johnson and his lovely wife Agnes from Milledgeville, read the Book of Revelation and on the last two chapters the entire crowd joined in unison, ending with the shofar and giving thanks for the readings from the Old Testament Prophecy. Afterwards, we all had fellowship with good food and a time of rejoicing in our love for our savior Jesus Christ.

Sincerely, Evelyn Collins
