Dear Editor,
So, what happens after November 5th? Which candidates will have won? What amendments passed and what does that mean for us? God knows the answer to these questions, but we must wait and see.
The question is, how do we wait? We should be in constant prayer until that day.
After results are known, we must still wait, but with our faith in God and remain in constant prayer concerning America’s future.
The concern is this: regardless of who wins or loses, how will the American people react?
I am of the age that I remember when election results were accepted. Even though many were deeply disappointed and discouraged with the results, it was without the anger, persecution, and violence that we have witnessed following recent elections. I recall elections that were contested, but without individuals or property being damaged or destroyed. Not agreeing on everything is no reason, or right, to react in such destructive behavior.
Scripture tells us the devil is always working evil, looking to devour. It also says the only reason he comes is to steal, kill and destroy.
This must be our prayer focus! As believers, we have power and authority in, the name of Jesus, to bind and loose, curses and blessings. We have His authority to declare and decree America’s future, which aligns with God’s Word and the United States Constitution. This is the way we should pray regarding all winners elected into governing rolls. We must not pray only for those we voted for. Nope. The Bible commands us to pray for kings, nations, and all in authority. Pray scriptural prayers and ask God to use these people for His Glory.
Some things will change because of this election.
However, there are some things that never will: God will still be on the throne; Jesus will still be the only way to heaven, and will save anyone who places their faith and trust in Him; the Bible will still have all the answers to our every problem; Holy Spirit will still be the comforter and constant companion; and prayer will still work.
These are eternal truths that no one and no thing can ever change.
