From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him John 6:66 Jesus was preaching to the crowd about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. Most of the people listening grew offended by this cannibalistic talk. But Jesus explained to them in v63, He was speaking in spiritual terms, not physical. We must ingest Jesus spiritually the way we ingest food physically. The crowd had been waiting for Jesus to do another multiplying of the bread miracle which He didn’t do, so the crowd (disciples in name only) got up and walk away never to walk with Him again. They wanted a good time Jesus to satisfy their physical desires, not a spiritual Jesus trying to satisfy the hunger of their souls for God. They only wanted their bellies filled, not their spirits.
So they did a 666took the mark of the beast so to speak--and walked away from Jesus for all eternity. Don’t do a John 6:66. Ingest Jesus into your soul.
Eat His flesh, drink His blood--spiritually--and you will receive eternal life. Earthly bread keeps you alive day to day.
Jesus--the Bread from heaven--keeps you alive for eternity.
