Jones County’s Mite League Basketball All Stars are district champions.
The 10U all-stars won the district crown with last week’s victory against all-stars from the City of Decatur and will next compete on the state level of play in Carrollton. Players and coaches were recognized during halftime of last Friday’s girls basketball second-round state tournament game at the JCHS gymnasium.
The district championship roster consists of Ashton Brown, Julian Johnson, Deon McKenzie, Duane Patterson, Dallas Peck, Mason Pitts, Jeremiah Thomas, Kayven Thompson, Connor Touchton, and Kaden Williams.
The 12U all-stars also beat Doraville last week to advance to the second round of district play. That team is comprised of Wilson Blue, Ace Coleman, Chris Gibson, Braylon Jones, Bo Meade, Maddox Mimbs, Zion Primus, Kelvin Renfroe, and Jonathan Shumate.
