The Greyhound Air Rifle Team “Rangers” finished the playoffs with a one-point loss to the Allatoona High School Air Rifle team in the semi-finals. The final score was Allatoona 1,113 and Jones 1,112. This loss concluded their season, but what an amazing accomplishment to make that deep of a run into the playoffs.
“This season of air rifle has brought me so much closer to my teammates and taught me how to be patient and wait for the right moment to fire a shot,” said Cadet Sgt.
Maj. Carly Mercer. “I am so grateful for everything this team has given me over the past four years.
“You miss all the shots you don’t take.”
“The match was a great experience for me,” said Cadet Capt. Imani Betha. “Despite our loss, I still had fun and enjoyed shooting with my team afterwards. I can’t wait for next year.”
“This season for our Rifle team has been the best we have ever seen,” said Cadet Maj. Ethan Bower. “Some of the best moments included us winning the division and almost going undefeated, it was an amazing time.
My teammates and I were able to learn so much from this experience.
Although the season did not end how we wanted it to, we all had a fun time competing with each other and against other schools.”
