Aniya Canty continues to be part of Florida A&M’s fortunes as the Rattlers closed out the weekend with a 14-4 conference record. Her six doubles are third-best on the team and is fourth in total bases with 33.
Georgia College & State came away from the weekend as one of the Peach Belt Conference’s frontrunners thanks to ongoing contributions from Aiden Payne and Keagan Baxter. Baxter has started 22 games and is hitting .278. His slugging percentage of .532 is second-best on the team. Payne has come off the bench in key spots for the Bobcats, who host series against Columbus State and North Georgia the next two weekends before the conference tournament Destin Howard has been a key cog as of late out of the bullpen for Georgia on the softball field, being called on in later innings. That included this past Saturday against Auburn, when she gave up a run and two hits in an inning and two thirds of a 10-5 win against the Tigers. The Lady Bulldogs were ranked 18th entering last weekend and conclude the regular season this weekend, hosting Ole Miss.
Jacob Thompson
remains among the most relied upon pitchers at Brevard College, having appeared in 10 games and started five to go with 31.1 innings pitched. His 17 strikeouts rate fourth on the team for the Tornadoes, who began the week 7-5 in conference play.
Brody Gordon continues to see action on the mound at Gordon State, having taken the hill for five starts and 10 appearances, pitching a combined 13.2 innings.
Dawson Harris is 4-4 on the season while Bo Mansfield has also provided pitching depth for a team that hosts South Georgia College this weekend.
