Jones County’s distance runners set high marks last fall during the crosscountry season. They carried that over to track and field season at Saturday’s Union Grove Early Bird All-Comers Invitational.
Lilly Palmer ran to a first-place finish in the girls 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:27.73 with Addison Robinson close behind to finish third with a time of 13:00.23.
The Greyhounds finished near the front as well in the 3200 meters. Coming in third was Tyler Marshall with a time of 10:45.98 and Luke Thornton gave JCHS two top-five finishes with his 10:55.37 being good for fifth.
The next scheduled meet for Jones County is March 2 at Jackson.
