After a brief respite following Jones County’s J-Day spring scrimmage last month, the drive toward the start of the season restarted, with focus on speed and strength, building blocks that will stack upon one another over time over not just the summer, but when preseason practice gets going in late July.

Case in point, after a brief team meeting on Monday, players on offense and defense began the morning either focused on weight training or on techniques building speed.

JCHS is scheduled to host Mary Persons for a preseason scrimmage on Aug. 8 with the season opener at week later at Veterans.
