Jones County pounded the ball into the end zone early and often on Friday, scoring on all but one of its first-half offensive possessions on the way to a 49-14 win against the Wildcats in the Greyhounds' region opener.
Jones County continues region play next week against Ola, which won its region opener on Friday at Perry, 35-19.
Locust Grove had no answer for Jones County's ground attack on Friday, as Travis Miller scored the Greyhounds' first three touchdowns in addition to Laquan Pendleton getting into the end zone twice and Kaden Canty once.
