Jones County went on the road and collected its first win of the season in style on Friday, shutting out Burke County 35-0. The Greyhounds, who generated two-first half scores off of turnovers to lead 21-0 at halftime, also got a fumble return for a touchdown in the second half from Nate Wilson.
The win is also Jones County's first shutout since the third week of the season a year ago,
Kaden Canty rushed for a pair of touchdowns for JCHS with Laquan Pendleton and Travis Miller each having one.
Jones County opens region play next week at Locust Grove. The Wildcats are 1-3 on the season, having given up 27 or more points in every game this season.
