The Greyhounds showed a continual closing of the gap against teams throughout the region last week, dropping a pair of matches 3-1 to both Locust Grove and ELCA.
Last week’s pair of two-goal losses came after four previous region matchups in which JCHS lost by an average of 6.5 goals.
“They’re start to get the hang of it, there’s definitely been a lot of fight and effort,” Greyhounds head coach Nathan Robertson said. “We’re a bit behind other teams, so we are having to make up for that with effort.”
In Tuesday’s loss to the Wildcats, the Greyhounds trailed 2-1 at halftime on a goal by Jacob Watts before Locust Grove added an insurance goal in the second half.
“That’s really been the big thing for us, we’re giving more effort,” Robertson said.
