JUNIOR VARSITY
Late-game magic was good to Jones County’s JV football team last week at Jasper County, as a rally from being down 10-0 going into the fourth quarter resulted in a 14-10 win.
Eighth-grader Colby “Maddox” Kitchens led the comeback for Jones County, tossing two fourth-quarter touchdowns to Ayden Greene and Trace Ethridge.
The Greyhounds sustained their offense in the final quarter on key runs by Daniel Pace in addition to a key fourth-down pass from Kitchens to AJ Tinsley on the eventual game-winning drive.
Kitchens connected with Greene with 5:35 to play with the game-winner to Ethridge with less than 30 seconds to play.
Jones County was led defensively by Tyshawn Coats, Deshawn Banks, AJ Tinsley, and Aasir Richardson.
