It’s well-known that Zion Ragins and Tyler Stewart are among the fastest runners in the State of Georgia. That became more of a cemented fact at Saturday’s James Rollerson Relays in Jackson.
Ragins and Stewart posted fast times once again, sweeping the top two places in the 100-meter dash and Stewart winning the 200-meter run. Ragins won with a time of 10.24 seconds, just six-tenths in front of Stewart whose time of 21.77 won the 200 meters. The times posted by Ragins and Stewart are among the fastest 100-meter times in the country, not to mention being currently the top two times across all classifications in the state.
But those were not the only assaults against the record book on Saturday. As for the 3200-meter run? There, Gavin Robinson won with a time of 10:21.93 as JCHS took three of the top four spots with times of 10:37.58 by Andrew Marshall and 10:49.52 by Grady Newby being good for second and fourth.

Jayden Simmons was second in the discus at 113-03.00 The Lady Greyhounds showed strength in the distance events as well, sweeping first and second in the 1,600 meters and claiming two of the top three spots in the 800 meters Isabella Sanchez ran to a second-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:32.17, one spot ahead Addison Robinson’s time of 2:34.49.
