Hounds, Lady Hounds dominate all-region cross country honors

CROSS COUNTRY

Jones County’s cross country program has once again collected a lion’s share of all-region hardware following both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds winning their fourth region championships in a row.

Addison Robinson was named the region girls runner of the year, and JCHS head cross country coach Geoff Moore was recognized as the region coach of the year. The Greyhounds, whose thirdplace finish in the state meet was the best in school history, placed a total of seven runners on the all-region selections. Firstteam selections were Luke Thornton, Gavin Robinson, Shaun Williams, Clay Lacy, and Tyler Marshall. Named to the second team were Grady Newby and Rylan Fuller.

The Lady Greyhounds were led by Mary Barnwell and Tanner Watts on the first team in addition to second-team selections Macie White and Makenzie Snook.
