With plenty of big plays on both sides of the ball, the Greyhounds passed their final preseason test on Friday at Greyhound Field, beating Mary Persons 41-28. Both offenses matched one another for a half prior to Jones County pulling ahead in the second half as both teams steadily rotated in reserves in the final quarter.
The Greyhounds, who open the season next Friday at Veterans, trailed 21-20 before pulling ahead in a second half in which they also forced a pair of turnovers. See full coverage in next week's edition.
