Kent qualifies for state

GREYHOUND GOLF

The multi-sport Lady Greyhound career of Kimber Kent will last a bit longer.

By way of her round of 84 in last week’s GHSA golf sectionals, the senior will advance as an individual to the GHSA Class AAAAA state tournament, set for Monday and Tuesday in Waycross.

“She has been so good and consistent all year for us,” Lady Greyhounds golf coach Lance Pittman said of Kent.

The Lady Hounds finished sixth as a team with a score of 295, a total of 11 strokes behind fourth-place Ware County.

Other than Kent’s round of 84, top JCHS scores were Karlie Hoffman’s 101, Sara Utley with a round of 110 and the 113 posted by Kendyl Thomas.
