GIRLS SOCCER
The Lady Greyhounds may not be bound for the postseason, but they’re still determined to finish out the season strong. That desire was put into proof last Friday at Warner Robins, where a 3-2 win snapped a six-game losing streak.
In the win against the Demonettes, Daisy Blanton scored a pair of goals with Reagan Sorrell adding one.
Shayla Pennington also played a key role in the offensive end with two assists.
The win over Warner Robins came following a strong fight the Tuesday before by a Jones County team riddled by injuries. In a 9-2 loss to Dutchtown, the Lady Hounds got goals from Kaylee Pippin and Blanton.
Those two goals scored were the most scored in the single match for the Lady Greyhounds since six contests before, a piece of momentum for a Jones County team that has endured its share of growing pains during the season.
The Lady Hounds closed out region play Tuesday at Eagles Landing and host Houston County on Thursday.
