Morris Bank Complex offers wide range of ways to stay active

RECREATION SPOTLIGHT

On 88 acres worth of property, the Morris Bank Recreation Complex offers a wide range of avenues for Jones Countians to stay active.

With 17 ballfields and six batting cages, there is plenty of room for sports such as softball and baseball to hold games and practices in the spring and summer months, either by way of a recreational basis or for all-star and travel ball teams. In fact, the complex is set to host an all-star tournament next week. But there’s more to the complex than just two sports.

With an outdoor basketball court and the six pickleball courts opened in recent years, more opportunities are in place for local residents to take advantage of during all parts of the day and into the evening hours.

Those courts are also located near one of the complex’s two playgrounds, whose features include a synthetic surface to reduce injuries, standard playground equipment, swings and oversized seats that can better accommodate those with special needs.
