GEORGIA’S TOP DAWG IN TOWN
Four days after romping over TCU to win back-to-back national titles, the Georgia Bulldogs’ coaching staff canvassed the state on Friday, sending 10 coaches to 10 schools in the same day.
That relentless effort brought Georgia head coach Kirby Smart to Gray, where a stop at Jones County High School was among his stops as he arrived via helicopter. Among Smart’s likely targets was the Greyhounds speedy receiver and multi-time track and field champion Zion Ragins. The Bulldogs are among the teams to have offered Ragins, currently a junior.
Georgia is hardly the only team to covet Ragins, as he has raked in SEC offers from the likes of Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Florida in addition to Georgia Tech, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma and Michigan State, as well as others.
Quarterback Judd Anderson has also previously drawn SEC interest, getting an offer from Ole Miss to go with Pittsburgh and Toledo.
