The Greyhound soccer teams wrapped up their respective seasons last week, ending a season marked by injuries but also having seen younger players gain vital experience.
The Lady Hounds bid farewell to a senior class whose accolades include a pair of state playoff appearances and a history-making first postseason home win in program history. While Shayla Pennington, Madison Maxwell and Taylor Nipper will depart as seniors, those who emerged as leaders during the as the season went on include Daisy Blanton, Abigail Norris, Kaylee Pippin and Reagan Sorrell.
The Greyhounds found goalie stability with Justin Flippen prior to his season ending on an injury. With Flippen being among the graduating seniors that also includes Levi Skinner and Kamani Stokes, Sam Delcid, who saw time in net later in the year, figures to be in line to do the same next season, and this year’s experience should aid in that pathway as others set to return are Greyson Robbins and Brendan Waters.
