Watts, Dennis take first at International City Relays

Both in distance running and field events, the girls’ portion of last week’s International City Relays ended with first-place honors for the Lady Greyhounds. In the 3200 meter-run, Tanner Watts led a contingent of four JCHS runners in the top five, running a 12:51.81 to win first. In the discus, Angel Dennis’ throw of 86-6 was good for first with Diamond Sinclair’s 71-7 taking fifth. Those two were among the leaders in the shot put with Sinclair being third at 32-1 and Dennis seventh at 27-2.

Zy’DeAsia Adams was also fifth in the triple jump at 31-2.1 In the 100 meters, Sariyah Ellis and Ziyan Miller ran to places of third and ninth with times of 13:28 and 13:94.

As expected, the strong point for the Lady Hounds came in distance events with Makenzie Snook, Catelen Myers and Macie White taking second, fourth and fifth with times of 12:52.81, 14:13.92, and 14:46.17. In the relay events, JCHS won the 4x800 with a time of 10:07.16 in addition to finishing second in the 4x100 and 4x400 to go with fourth in the 4x200 and first in the distance medley with a time of 13:12.44.
