Football, Cheerleading Registrations are still being accepted for youth football and cheerleading for this fall’s season in Jones County. Registration is $130 per person and is open through Aug. 1. There will be a mandatory uniform fitting, and a birth certificate should be brought when signing up.

The Georgia Ravens, a local semipro football team led by those from Jones County, will look to start the season 2-0 on Saturday in their home opener against the Cardinals. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex, and admission is $2. “We’re excited.

Mix of activity encompasses Hounds in return from break

The Greyhounds’ return from their second dead week of the summer was filled with a little bit of everything last week. JCHS stretched its collective legs out, being scheduled to travel south to Houston County for a joint workout with Veterans, but the week was not all work.
