On Friday, November 18, Tri-CoGo and Tri-County EMC employees, contractors and local dignitaries gathered to recognize the completion of Phase 1 of the Tri-CoGo fiber internet project.
“Since announcing the project in May 2021, we have connected 3,000 customers to 100% fiber internet and constructed over 1,000 miles of fiber across the Tri-County EMC service area,” said Greg Mullis, COO of Tri-CoGo. “During this first phase, we’ve seen our team take on new challenges, navigate through unexpected speedbumps and work diligently to bring this service to Tri-County EMC members. It is rewarding to see the hard work of our employees, contractors and local partners coming to fruition to bring this much needed internet service to our area.”
Phase 1 serves most Tri-County EMC members living in Jones, Twiggs, Wilkinson, and Bibb Counties. As the project enters Phase 2, construction will continue into Baldwin and Putnam Counties.
“We hear feedback every day regarding the difference this internet service is making in the lives of our customers,” said Anna Jones, Marketing Coordinator of Tri-CoGo. “Customers that previously only had a connection using the hotspot on their cell phone now have the ability to stream TV online.”
