Deer classroom activities aid in learning

At Jones County Pre-K, the Deer Classroom has been engaged in many learning activities this school year with Teacher Shannon Briscoe and Paraprofessional Stefanie Cannon.Recently, the class has focused on learning about self-talk and how to regulate their emotions.

Thomas has always valued family, hard work

Cheryl Thomas has not been one who, as the old saying goes, “lets grass grow under her feet.” The retired banking executive began working part-time at age 15, went full time in the banking business just two days after graduating from high school in 1962, then married six months later.

Time at the Hay House comes full circle for Newby

A teenager’s Sunday afternoon guided tour of a popular tourist attraction in Macon nearly 30 years ago came full circle this past Spring when that teen was hired as its executive director.Jones Countian Aubrey Newby began work in May of this year at Macon’s historic Hay House.
