Clifton Ridge honors Cougar family veterans

Clifton Ridge Middle School hosted a Veteran’s Day Assembly last month, inviting students’ family members to honor the Cougar family military veterans for their service.The school’s band teacher, Lori Johnson, said turnout for the Nov.

Business in holiday spirit with ‘Scoop it Forward’

One downtown business is spreading the Christmas cheer in more ways than one.Cone Crazy on Main is located at 123 W. Clinton St. in Gray and is owned by Paige and Billy Horne. Since opening in August, the ice cream shop has expanded, now selling hot drinks and breakfast until 11 a.m.

Nelson prefers working close to home

Shirley Beck has proven all her life she is not afraid to try anything, and the results have almost always been successful. One of her early ventures, however, didn’t work out.Beck, 89, was born in a house in James and grew up in the community.
