Lions complete fingerprinting project

The Pilot Club completed its September project, fingerprinting kindergarten students (with parental approval) in the four elementary schools.Pilot members registered students by recording their physical characteristics (height, weight, eye color).

Lucy Craft Laney was born to teach

Lucy Craft Laney was born in Macon April 13, 1854, to Louisa and David Laney. Her father, born a slave, was a Presbyterian minister and skilled carpenter who had purchased his freedom 20 years prior to Lucy’s birth.

Community branding process kicks off
