Dames Ferry shows off Christmas lights for community

Dames Ferry Elementary School held their Christmas Lighting event recently, showing off the lights they leave on until after Christmas to put the Jones County community into the holiday spirit.

Health Department back in renovated facility

Renovations to the building housing the Jones County Health Department are complete with the new facility focused on improved patient care, patient privacy and safety for both the public and employees. The move back into the renovated facility, located at 114 Forest Street, took place Nov.

Kemp wants to accelerate state income tax cuts

Gov. Brian Kemp said Monday he will ask Georgia lawmakers to provide additional tax relief during the upcoming legislative session by accelerating a state income tax cut lawmakers adopted last year. House Bill 1437 set in place a reduction in the state’s income tax rate from 5.75% to 4.
