Jones County Animal Shelter seeks homes for pets

Story and photos by Alaina Clarke The Jones County Animal Shelter is still fighting daily to save the lives of many cats and dogs since the pardon, which didn’t clear the shelter. There is still hope for many of the animals that remain, but time does not stand still.

Collins named CEO of College and Career Academy

Lisa Collins is the new Jones County College and Career Academy CEO and the Executive Director of College and CTAE programs, inspiring young minds as they make decisions beyond high school. Collins lives at Lake Sinclair and said she likes the area.
The Kiwanis club of Jones County recently donated $500 to Jay’s hope foundation. Accepting the gift were Cindi Gaskins, the founder and director of Jay’s Hope, and Jason Gaskins. The check was presented by Cecil Ethridge and President Owen Pruitt. The Kiwanis club frequently donates to this vitally important organization that has made a signi_cant contribution to and improvement in the lives of cancer patients and their families. CONTRIBUTED

Jones County brothers walk similar paths through faith

Eli and Bryce Boland, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gray, are walking similar paths with their faith. The brothers are finding their own ways to build their relationship with Jesus and teach others what He can do for them through being missionaries.
