Ellis Chapel Baptist Church Trip

The Ellis Chapel Baptist Church in Haddock, invites the public to join in a trip to Noah’s Ark, Williamstown, KY on Sept. 19-21.

Salem AME Church

Salem AME Church, 115 Holloman Road, will hold their annual Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2:00 p.m.

Minister Kelvin Broadus from Loganville, GA will be the guest speaker.

The Mount Salem Missionary Baptist Church at 159 Cleveland Street, Gray, invites you to join them as they celebrate their 139th Church Anniversary, Aug.

Greater Jordan Chapel AME Church

Greater Jordan Chapel A.M.E.

Church invites you to their Living Legacy Worship Service on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 9:00 a.m.

They will honor members 80 years and older for their steadfast dedication, faithful service, and lasting contributions to both the church and the community.

State of the Community meeting

Aug. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Butler Hall. Tickets are $25.

The State of the Community is an informative event designed to provide residents with a comprehensive overview of developments across Jones County. Leaders from various sectors—including local government, education, public safety, economic development, and community services—will share updates on current projects, future initiatives, and ongoing efforts that impact the county’s growth and well-being.

Benefit for Califf High School

The Maggie Califf High School Alumni Association will host a Gospel Fest at Mt. Salem Baptist Church on Cleveland Street in Gray, Saturday, Aug.

16,from4-6p.m. Performers will include local church choirs, duets, soloists, and quartets.

Admission to the program is free, but a donation will be requested from attendees. Come enjoy this musical extravaganza.

Jones County Hunter Education Class

The GA Department of Natural Resources will be conducting a free required hunter safety class Saturday, Aug. 16, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jones County Fire Station 5 in Wayside. All supplies are provided, and no cost required.

JC Lions Club Fair

The Jones County Lions Club Fair will be Sept. 9-13. Tuesday through Friday, open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, open 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Armbands - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday $20; Friday and Saturday, $25.

Admission - $5 for adults and $2 for students.

CASA volunteer training

Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will hold their fall New Volunteer Training from 1-4 p.m. each day on: September 17 – Orientation; Wednesday, Sept. 24, Chapters 1-2; Monday, Sept. 29, Chapters 3-4; Monday, October 6, Chapters 5-6; Wednesday, October 8, Chapters 7-8; Wednesday, October 15, - CPRS All sessions will be held at the Putnam County Administration Building, 117 Putnam Drive, Eatonton. • TheJCHSFFAAlumniChapter meets the second Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. inside the JCHS lunchroom.

Membership is open to anyone, even if they were not a former FFA member.
