State of the Community meeting

Aug. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Butler Hall. Tickets are $25.

The State of the Community is an informative event designed to provide residents with a comprehensive overview of developments across Jones County. Leaders from various sectors—including local government, education, public safety, economic development, and community services—will share updates on current projects, future initiatives, and ongoing efforts that impact the county’s growth and well-being.

JC Lions Club Fair

The Jones County Lions Club Fair will be Sept. 9-13. Tuesday through Friday, open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, open 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Armbands - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday $20; Friday and Saturday, $25.

Admission - $5 for adults and $2 for students.

25th Annual Golf Tournament

The Jones County Chamber’s 25th Annual Golf Tournament will be Sept. 25. Registration: 10:30 a.m.; Networking Lunch: 11:00 a.m.; Tee-off: 12:00 p.m.

JC Cruisers Craft & Car Show

Sept. 13, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Carol’s Park, Clinton St. Free craft show and vintage car show. Registration is $20 for each car.

Food trucks will there. Benefit for food boxes for 50 families for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Cars must be in place by 9:30 a.m. and judged by noon. The community is invited to join.

CASA volunteer training

Ocmulgee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) will hold their fall New Volunteer Training from 1-4 p.m. each day on: September 17 – Orientation; Wednesday, Sept. 24, Chapters 1-2; Monday, Sept. 29, Chapters 3-4; Monday, October 6, Chapters 5-6; Wednesday, October 8, Chapters 7-8; Wednesday, October 15, - CPRS All sessions will be held at the Putnam County Administration Building, 117 Putnam Drive, Eatonton. Touch-A-Truck

Sept. 20, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at grounds of Jones County Sheriff’s Office. $5 admission tickets at the event (cash, checks or Venmo only) or purchase at Morris Bank, Ace of Gray, Trinabell’s Diner, Jones Co.

Sheriff’s Office or any Pilot Club of Jones County member. Food will be available for purchase.

All proceeds benefiting brain awareness.
