Corp. Carr was monitoring traffic on Hwy. 49 when he observed a vehicle approaching and the third brake light on the vehicle was not working. At this time, Carr pulled out behind the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. When Carr made contact with the driver, she advised him that she had left her license at home. Carr asked the passenger in the vehicle for her information, and she gave it to him. When Carr checked both the driver and passenger’s information through the GCIC/NCIC system, it alerted that the passenger’s license was suspended, and she had two active warrants. Carr also noticed the picture of the passenger, according to the name she gave him, was actually the driver of the vehicle. Carr had the passenger exit the vehicle and when he did so, both of the females told him they lied to him about their names. They were actually sisters, and she gave her sister’s name because of her license status. The driver is the one that actually had the warrants out on her. At that time, Carr advised the driver she was under arrest due to driving while license suspended. The passenger was released from the scene with a verbal warning. Carr transported the offender to the Jones County LEC where she was given a citation for driving while license suspended and a warning for the equipment violation.
