The subject advised the officer that they left the scene of the accident and that she was actually not the one driving the vehicle when the accident occurred. The driver at the time of the accident had told her that he would go to jail, so they left and switched drivers then went back to the scene of the accident. James advised the subject that she would be placed under arrest for Giving False Statements. The offender was transported to the Jones County LEC and a warrant for Giving False Information was obtained and served. Warrants were also obtained for the actual driver for Driving While License Revoked and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. The female was turned over to jail staff for processing.
