Corporal Carr was monitoring traffic on the Gray Bypass when his incar tag reader alerted to a vehicle showing an expired registration. Carr initiated a traffic stop at this time. When Carr made contact with the driver, she advised that she had forgot to renew her registration and would take care of it soon as possible. The driver also advised Carr that someone else was supposed to have handled the insurance for her. While speaking with the driver, Carr detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Carr asked the passenger in the vehicle for his information and had dispatch verify through GCIC/NCIC and it came back to show the passenger was wanted out of Baldwin County. Sgt. Jackson transported the passenger to the Baldwin County line, and the driver was transported to the Jones County LEC. Carr secured a warrant for possession of MDMA and served it to the driver along with citations for possession of marijuana less than 1oz., driving while license suspended, no insurance and expired registration.
