First, the Greyhounds took an early lead in Friday's season opener at Veterans.
Then, they poured it on, going on to begin the Justin Montgomery era with a 34-12 win against the Warhawks.
Jones County blew the game open with two big first-half plays on each side of the ball.
After a Kaden Canty run of 80 yards extended an early Greyhounds lead to 17-3 in the second quarter, Andre Hall ran back an interception 90 yards on the final play of the first half, giving JCHS an 24-3 halftime lead in a game in which the Warhawks were held without a touchdown until the final minute.
Jones County opens region play next Friday at Woodland.
