Hounds open season with over Warhawks

First, the Greyhounds took an early lead in Friday's season opener at Veterans.

Then, they poured it on, going on to begin the Justin Montgomery era with a 34-12 win against the Warhawks.

Jones County blew the game open with two big first-half plays on each side of the ball.

After a Kaden Canty run of 80 yards extended an early Greyhounds lead to 17-3 in the second quarter, Andre Hall ran back an interception 90 yards on the final play of the first half, giving JCHS an 24-3 halftime lead in a game in which the Warhawks were held without a touchdown until the final minute.

Jones County opens region play next Friday at Woodland.
