GBI arrests former Gray Police officer

Charges against a former Gray Police Officer were released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Thursday morning as well as the Gray Police Department.The GBI release states William Paul Hathaway, 54, of Gray was arrested and charged with sexual battery.

Administrator guided county through tough times

Mike Underwood says he always tried to do right in his work, but he knew that a local government administrator must make decisions that are not always popular. That even included Jones County, his last position before retirement and his home still today.

Jones County Board of Education members welcomed a community partner and celebrated Georgia’s Teacher of the Year at their August business meeting. The Aug. 10 meeting was called to order by Board Chairman Ginger Bailey, and the opening prayer was led by board member Mike Gordon.
