Myrtice Marie Thomas is the local veteran of the week. She achieved the rank of sergeant first class (E7) and retired after 23 years of service in the U.S. Army. Her primary specialty was operating room SP; she served throughout Europe and Asia.

Clifton Ridge Middle School held its Great Math and Science Night, a Title I event for Cougar families to learn about Georgia Milestones testing strategies, engage in hands-on math and science activities, and participate in the school book fair.
Congratulations to Stevie Johnson, who recently received the Georgia Association of Water Professionals Water Operator of the Year Award. With over six years of dedicated service to Jones County Water Systems, Stevie has demonstrated exceptional expertise and commitment to the industry. This prestigious award is granted to only a select few water professionals once a year, recognizing outstanding performance and skill. CONTRIBUTED
