Routine traffic stop turns into drug arrests

A routine traffic stop for taillight and seatbelt violations ended with the arrest of the driver and one of the passengers, thanks to the help of one of Jones County’s K9 officers.The traffic stop and arrests both took place Nov. 25.

Veteran’s small livestock featured at Nativity

The Live Nativity at Gray Methodist Church this weekend has some small additions that could make a big impact.The nativity will be presented Dec. 13-15 from 6-9 p.m. The church is located at 121 Gordon St., and entry to view the scenes is once again from Stewart Avenue, crossing in front of the W.E.

Georgia economy to grow in 2025 but more slowly

Georgia's economy will continue growing next year but at a slower rate than in 2024, the dean of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business said Friday.The state's economy is projected to grow by 2.4% in 2025, down from 3.

Lockerly Arboretum and Forest Forms light up

Lockerly Arboretum is decorated in a festive glow for the holiday season and invites everyone to view Lockerly in Lights before they leave Dec. 21.Lockerly in Lights runs every Thursday through Saturday night. Thursdays are drive-thru only from 6-9 p.m.

Christmas Parade, drive-thru nativity set next week

The City of Gray will be in full-blown Christmas mode next week with the annual Christmas Parade Dec. 10 followed by the weekend presentation of the Live Drive-Thru Nativity.The parade will line up in Ingles parking lot and head toward Downtown Gray at 7 p.m.

OCHS celebrates 50 years of preserving Clinton

The Old Clinton Historical Society celebrated 50 years of historic preservation with an open house that included the opening of the newly renovated Johnson Law Office.
