Charles M. Farrar was drafted into the Army on April 1, 1969. Charles completed basic infantry training at Fort Benning, GA then completed advance infantry training at Fort Polk, LA and sent to Vietnam as a member of the 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) on Sept. 1, 1969.

BOE approves expenses, listens to achievements

The Jones County Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting Nov. 12 to discuss various purchases for the benefit of the Jones County School System.The meeting began with a report from Chairman Ginger Bailey, who thanked all Jones County School System employees for their contributions.

A talented Jones County Arts cast is presenting a heartwarming production of Annie Jr. this weekend, just in time to spread the spirit of the holidays.Performances will be at the W.E. Knox Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m.
