BOC finally votes to oust assessors

The Jones County Board of Commissioners took a step that had been anticipated for months at their meeting last week toward the removal of the remaining three members of the Jones County Board of Tax Assessors.The decision to start that process was made following the closed session at meeting’s end.

Jones County High School freshman Braxton Goldsmith represented Team USA at the WKC Sport Karate World Championship in Albufeira, Portugal, and won gold in Korean forms.The world championship competition took place from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1.
