Veterans 5K to kickoff this year’s Spring Festival

The Main Street Gray Hometown Spring Festival scheduled later this month has added a new event, a 5K race that had previously been held in November.The Col. Allen Carr 5K Race is set to kick off the April 25 festival at 9 a.m. Race day registration will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.

Georgia Power is preparing to remove more than two million tons of potentially dangerous coal ash from storage ponds at its former Plant Arkwright site in Macon and then transfer it by road to its decommissioned Plant Branch site in Putnam County, near Lake Sinclair.
