Report of burn victim being set on fire leads to arrest

Investigators with the Jones County Sheriff’s Office did not receive the report of an April 24 assault until days after the victim was taken for treatment at the burn center in Augusta.Roger Cecil Evans, 51, was arrested April 30 and charged with the crime of aggravated assault.

Bond denied for man charged with aggravated molestation

Bond was denied a Jones County man in Superior Court last week, facing charges of aggravated child molestation spanning more than a decade.Robert Davis Andrews, 62, was in court April 30 seeking bond, represented by public defender Keri Thompson.Andrews was arrested Jan.

Indictment for drugs, firearm charges stems from traffic stop

A Milledgeville man stopped for a suspended registration was arrested on drug charges in January and recently indicted on those charges by a Jones County Grand Jury.Emmanuel Andrade Rivas aka Emmanual Rivas Andrade has been incarcerated in the Jones County jail since his Jan. 17 arrest.
