Man pleads guilty for stealing cars

A Jones County defendant arrested in June for the theft of motor vehicles was in court last week to enter a guilty plea for the charges.Gabriel Kaison Martin entered his plea July 25 and received sentences of five years each for two counts of theft by taking.

Two individuals arrested for burglary of a Jones County home last month were indicted for the offense by a grand jury.Deladra Antwann Jackson and Samantha Shamar Thomas were both indicted July 19 for the charge of burglary in first degree and the possession of methamphetamine.

Some of the members also agreed to volunteer at the Dairy Queen on the day of the fundraiser. Charlie Newberry, President of Kiwanis, praised Kelly’s efforts and his contributions to our community. All funds raised go directly to help children at the hospital. CONTRIBUTED
