Charles “Terry” Moore is the local veteran of the week. He was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force upon graduation at Georgia Tech in 1969. He served as maintenance officer for C-5 and C-141 cargo aircraft in Charleston, S.C., during the Vietnam conflict.

Man charged with fleeing police gets 10 years

A disabled veteran facing serious charges in Jones County entered a guilty plea in Superior Court last week and was sentenced to a combination of confinement and probation.Henry Thomas Redd was in court May 23 and received a total sentence of 10 years with the first year to serve in confinement.
