Escapee from jail now going to prison

Man stopped from stealing cars with prison sentence

A 19-year-old defendant is on his way to serve five years in prison due to his persistent car thefts and fleeing from law enforcement.Neremiah Terrell Johnson was in Jones County Superior Court Feb. 28 to enter a guilty plea for offenses of fleeing from police officers and theft by taking.

Qualifying open; voting underway

Advance voting will continue through March 8 during the hours of 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Elections Office located inside the Government Center at 166 Industrial Boulevard in Gray.Georgia’s Presidential Primary is Tuesday, March 12.
