The Jones County Board of Commissioners started 2024 with a work session on roads, followed by their first Tuesday business meeting. Board Chairman Chris Weidner called the meeting to order and led the prayer and pledge.

Domestic disputes are private arguments that usually start between family members but for whatever reason escalate to need the help of law enforcement. The December indictments included four such situations that rose to the level of charges of aggravated assaults.

Father, daughter arrested after party

What started as bad behavior at a party evolved into the arrest of two individuals and ultimately their indictment by a Jones County Grand Jury. Dantonio Jamar Anthony was indicted Dec. 11 on charges of criminal attempt to commit a felony, obstruction of an officer and reckless conduct.
