A six-month investigation led to warrants served on 12 Jones County businesses last week for the sale of illegal drugs, involving CBD products over the legal limit for THC. Three of the stores also face charges of commercial gambling for paying out cash winnings on gaming machines.

Man gets out of prison, arrested a month later for theft

The report of a stolen vehicle in a Jones County neighborhood led to an arrest on multiple charges. Dakota James Harper was arrested Jan. 4 and charged with felony theft by taking motor vehicle, felony theft by taking firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violations.
