Cameras help track man wanted for aggravated assault

Jones County’s Flock cameras were instrumental in a recent aggravated assault that began with a vehicle repossession and ended in a violent attack of the repo agent. Charles L. Cornick, 63, was arrested Aug. 3 and charged with the crime of aggravated assault.

Greyhound game audio to be streamed on new app

Greyhound fans will once again have the option of following Jones County Football wherever they are. After five years of broadcasting the games, one of the members of the team, who now works for another school district, will no longer be able to join the broadcast, but the show will go on.

Housing Committee needs members for grant eligibility

Jones County’s Housing Committee has been at work for more than two decades, but more members are needed to face the challenges ahead. The committee held its quarterly meeting July 28 with only five members in attendance.

BOE again rolls back tax rate, approves purchases

Police vehicle damaged, no one injured in pursuit

The apprehension of the driver of a silver Taurus wanted for a hit and run in Bibb County involved both Gray Police Officers and Jones County Deputies and resulted in multiple additional charges. A GPD patrol vehicle was damaged in the pursuit, but no injuries were reported.
